Our Wedding
Message From the Couple
(Scroll for Q&A and Wedding Registry)
"The first time I saw you waiting in the Purdue bouldering gym I thought for sure you were out of my league. But my amazing climbing skills must of woo’ed you over because the next time I saw at a party you sparked up a conversation. I couldn’t of been more ecstatic. Something I could’ve never managed to do myself. After adding you on Snapchat I was blown away. It was too bad this was just before break and we had to go back home for a few weeks. But those weeks turned out to be the best as we talked for hours every night through Christmas break and the anticipation to see you again grew. So much so I couldn’t wait to get back to Purdue and go on a formal date with you. I still remember picking you up in my ford ranger and finally seeing you again after winter break. As I opened the ranger door for you and walked you in I already knew you were truly the one."
"Kyle and I first met rock climbing in Purdue's gym through our mutual friend, also one of Kyle's groomsman and high school buddy, Nick. When I met Kyle my first thought was "This is guy I would love to date, but he's way out of my league" so I was too nervous to engage in any conversation and we both went our separate ways. A couple weeks later I saw Kyle going into a frat party and I knew I wanted to get a photo with him to send to Nick. Through some liquid courage I was able to find Kyle in the madness that is a frat party and our first ever photo was taken. We danced the whole night and when the time came for me to leave with my friends I was the one who asked Kyle for his snapchat, and he'll never live it down ;) From there, we met up at a few more frat parties and talked over the next couple months through Thanksgiving and Christmas break. The first week we go back from break, Kyle took me on our first real date to Olive Garden where he officially asked me to be his girlfriend on January 8th, 2019. A few rock climbing dates and couple months later, we went on our first spring break trip to Florida where we took a long walk on the beach and as we made our way back, Kyle stopped me and told me he loved me. I couldn't have been more sure of our relationship and couldn't wait to say it back. I'm so happy to have the amazing friends we do because they captured the exact moment on the beach we said "I love you"!
It was around this time when Kyle told me a part to our story that has laid the framework for our relationship from the moment we were introduced. While I had been thinking Kyle was out of my league, he had also been thinking the same thing about me and had been too nervous to talk to me! Since that time, Kyle has always treated me better than I deserve, and I hope I have been able to do the same for him. Our dedication to each other has been carried through our relationship as Kyle graduated college with his mechanical engineering degree and I stayed behind an extra two years to get my PharmD. Through 16 hour round trip drives on the weekends while Kyle lived in Tennessee, we made the most of our long distance until I was able to move out after graduation. From there, Kyle continued to show his unwavering support for me as we decided to make the leap and drive a week out to live in Seattle together where we visited unbelievable scenery along the way and brought our favorite chunks, Odesza, home with us.
Since the beginning we have built the foundation of supporting each other while also letting one another be ourselves, and this is what has allowed us the room to grow together in our interest. We have found passion in exploring the areas the we have lived in and as many places nearby as possible, making new friends while ensuring to visit old ones, and spending 99% of the rest of our free time going to festivals and raves (just kidding... maybe). One of our latest adventures included going to Alaska for a cruise with Kyle's family where on May 22nd, 2023 Kyle got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It's the most confident yes I've ever made. We spent the rest of the week celebrating and immediately getting to wedding planning. We have lived in so many places and met so many incredible people we can't imagine a better next adventure than to celebrate with all of our closest friends and family in Mexico!"
We can't wait to share our love with you all,
Haley & Kyle
